Everything Indigo: Shibori, Block Printing, Rice Paste Resist with Molly Zimmer (Monday through Thursday)

Become enamored with indigo blue. With textile artist Molly Zimmer, students will explore modern and natural Japanese techniques for dyeing with indigo on fabric: including shibori tie dye techniques, rice paste resist stencils on fabric, block printing on fabric with indigo paste, and how to set up your own natural indigo vat. All skill levels are welcome. Students are encouraged to bring their own washed 100% cotton/linen fabrics to experiment with and image ideas for stencils and block printing.
