New Mexico Wild Call for Artists

Our Black and White exhibit is featured in the April 14

edition of the Albuquerque Journal! Read the article here.

Wesley Pulkka in the August 5, 2018 edition of the Albuquerque Journal writes that Art League exhibit Howard Wexler and Siegfried Hahn—A Retrospective "...is of a general high quality that would be the envy of many small musuems"!

Read the review here.

The New Mexico Art League goes back to school!

In early May, Art League instructor Denali Brooke and Art League member Vicki Morgan presented a one hour portrait drawing demonstration to 50 students at John Adams Middle School.

Vicki narrated while Denali drew a student who had been chosen to be the model. The demo was one in a series of talks to inspire the students and to have them learn about various careers.  The Art League was thrilled to be a part of the program.

Wesley Pulka in the March 18 edition of the Albuqeuerque Journal calls our "Objects of Desire" show..."the bees’ knees in local exhibitions"!

Our own Buffy Nelson was interviewed on February 10 on Spencer Beckwith's Saturday morning "On the Arts" show on KUNM!

The New Mexico Art League is about "giving access to people who would typically not have the opportunity to take an art class -- folks who always wanted to explore that part of themselves," says Executive Director Buffy Nelson.

In the Sunday, September 17 edition of the Albuquerque Journal, Wesley Pulkka writes that our exhibit "Quench: Water in the Desert "...is a knock-down, drag-out success that should quench most realist art lovers’ thirst for excellent landscapes.

Wesley Pulkka reviewed our "LIMITED EDITION" exhibit in the Sunday, August 6 edition of the Albuquerque Journal! Click here to read it.

After lauding works by Ruth Cohen, Dennis Liberty, Dinah Swan, Mary Sundstrom, Mary Sweet and  Fred Yost, he said, "There are even more walls full of well-rendered ideas, real places, things, people and flights of the    imagination. 'Limited Edition' is a    solid exhibition."

"The Art of the Flower" exhibit and our own J. Waid Griffin were featured on KRQE news on June 7! Watch it below.

Tony Ryder's February 25 demonstration "Painting the Portrait in Oil" was illuminating and inspirational! Thank you Tony. View slideshow here.
