While Nature prepares herself for a long winter’s nap, leaf children “frolic” as they break loose from the summer restraints imposed by Mother tree. In this expressive watercolor and ink class, using real fall foliage, explore the dance of fall leaves starting with gestural sketching. Discover vegetative patterns and geometry that form the backbone of organic perspective. Practice simple color mixing and layering to construct the complexity of the autumnal foliar palette. Demos and exercises in expressive pen mark-making help to define shape, form and texture. Whether your approach is illustrative or artistic in this 3-day workshop your sketchbook pages will abound with the energy and brilliance of the harvest season.
