What is the color of joy? The texture of nostalgia? In this 8-week class, artist Allison Jones Hunt guides you beyond depicting events to capturing the very emotion of a memory. Through practical tools like art grid journaling, intuitive color mixing, and creative mindfulness, you will learn to trust the quiet pulls of your own creativity. This class is an invitation to translate your inner world into vibrant mixed-media art on paper, embedding tangible pieces of your history—like photocopied letters and photographs—to tell your unique story through layers of texture and meaning. Within this supportive space, you will be encouraged to embrace imperfection and discover the power of art to process, heal, and connect.

In this workshop, you will learn to:

  • Translate your intuition into personal color palettes and authentic compositions.
  • Master expressive layering techniques using a variety of mixed-media materials.
  • Use the physical art-making process as a tool for creative mindfulness.
  • Build a joyful and sustainable creative practice that bypasses the inner critic.
