Class Description: This class gets us past the white canvas using surface treatments and will show you how to make the surface treatment work with the different types of image transfers we will be covering. This class is great for both beginning and advanced artists. Surfaces will cover alcohol, vasoline, elmer's glue, skins and more. You may think you know some of these but we push them to a new level. We will talk about how the porous or slick your surface is can affect your work, how to do isolation coasts to make your work glow and how to age your art. We will be covering gampi paper, two kinds of transparency, fabric, gel, paint, water slide decal transfers. Transfers are fun and are a great way to make art out of family photos or used for abstract paintings. Last but not least, we will do some demented gold leaf. Learn how easy gold leaf can be! Many of these techniques are in my book, Image Transfer Workshop. Currently I am working on my second book on surface techniques.. Supplies: You bring your brushes, acrylic paint, a pad or two of watercolor paper, palette and paper towels - the rest will be supplied. You will have a fun time in this fast paced class.
