Art Associations

Santa Fe Creative Tourism - Make your visit fun and meaningful by getting to know the city’s art, culture, history, heritage and people. Workshops, classes and experiences taught by local community members in vibrant artists’ studios and other settings make a Santa Fe visit all the more memorable.

The Arts Alliance - arts council for Albuquerque - excellent weekly email newsletter of things to do in the arts! Provides information on all the other societies and groups. Sign up on their website.

New Mexico Watercolor Society - Monthly meetings and many activities and exhibits

The Pastel Society of New Mexico - Monthly meetings and many activities including a national show for pastel artists

Plein Air Painters of New Mexico - A new and very active group!

Rio Grande Art Association - Oil and acrylic painters; monthly meetings and demonstrations

Albuquerque Art Business Association - An association of art businesses and organizers of Arts Crawl and First Friday (open studio and gallery events) see their website for schedules and maps.

The Albuquerque Museum of Art and History - Special exhibits and a fine permanent collection, including a landscape masterpiece by NMAL Master Painter Wilson Hurley

Indian Pueblo Cultural Center - Preserving Pueblo culture and advancing understanding of the accomplishments and evolving history of the Pueblo people of New Mexico

National Hispanic Cultural Center - A superb venue of art and events. Join their email list for announcements of dance, music, theater, and art events. Also home of Spain's Cervantes Institute providing possibly the best instructional courses in the Spanish language in the US

Petroglyph National Monument - Opportunity to view Native American rock art close to Albuquerque, on the West Mesa. Operated by the National Park Service.

University of New Mexico Art Museum and Johnson Gallery - Changing exhibits by contemporary artists and from a major permanent collection.

Maxwell Museum of Anthropology - One of the nation’s finest anthropology museums, with its primary emphasis on the Southwest, the museum's collections are worldwide in scope.

Framing Concepts Gallery - Exhibiting original oils, watercolors, and pastels, including many by NMAL Signature Members.

Nob Hill Gallery - Artist-owned gallery exhibiting the work of several NMAL instructors and members
