C.P.
Estes, Women Who Run With the Wolves, will be the text for this
ten week class in nurturing your creative spirit. We will read a
number of chapters from this classic book beginning with, Clear
Water: Nourishing the Creative Life as a point of discussion during
the course. Each week we will do an exercise in class using simple
recycled materials, pencils and paint.
This
will be an opportunity to spend time investigating what makes a
soulful experience with art. And an investigation of what makes
it happen in your own life. Estes says, one way is the practice
of intentional solitude, another way, equal in value, is to join
with others and find the creative spirit of play. "When writers
for example, feel dry, dry, dry, they know that the way to become
moist is to write." So this will be an opportunity to "write"
in the sense of allowing for movement and the creative flow to open.
During this time of change, spring unfolding, we will have ample
inspiration for creative blooming.
All levels of art education are welcome to participate in this class.
