505-823-9320
Web site: Giacobbe-Fritz Gallery, Santa Fe

Tuesday, 1:30 – 4:30 PM, Mar 10 - May 5
Tuition: $210

Concepts and techniques related to color in painting is a fundamental yet potentially quite challenging aspect of the fine arts. In this course students will be introduced to the various apects of color and their applications in oil still-life painting. This course covers the principal components of hue; light and dark; cool versus warm; complementary versus contrast; and color mixing.

About the instructor:

Cynthia Rowland graduated with a degree in Fine and Graphic Arts from Texas Tech University. Off to an exhilarating and jangling dozen years in New York, she worked with corporations and developed her own graphic design business. In 1993, Cynthia returned to New Mexico to pursue sculpture which has included several large scale commissions and competitions. For the last eight years, Cynthia’s consuming focus has been in oil painting. Her still-life and figurative work is represented by Deloney-Newkirk Gallery in Santa Fe and she also offers privately commissioned oil portraiture. For information call 823-9320.
